First SIG start at the beginning of April

The very first EBSN Special Interest Group (EBSN SIG 1) with the thematic focus on Workplace Basic Skills starts on 4 April, 2016.

Other 5 SIGs will start to operate in the near future with the following focuses:

• EBSN SIG 2: Numeracy, including Financial Literacy

• EBSN SIG 3: Digital Competence

• EBSN SIG 4: Basic Skills and Family Learning

• EBSN SIG 5: Creation and implementation of national policy for Basic Skills provision

• EBSN SIG 6: Second Language Acquisition for Migrants

An EBSN SIG has two main objectives:

• generate discussion and exchange of experience among the SIG members;

• contribute to the preparation of relevant online courses within its specific theme.

EBSN SIGs are only open to individuals representing EBSN member organizations. Applications for membership in a SIG should be sent to the EBSN Secretariat at secretariat@basicskills.eu. Those wishing to participate in the group are asked to register at EPALE, the Electronic Platform for Adult Learning in Europe (https://ec.europa.eu/epale/en/user/register) and send their EPALE username to the EBSN Secretariat.
